The HP788 features a large display and a new intuitive UI to make the device more efficient. The 2.4-inch color display can display more information (e.g., 6 contacts) per page. The Quick Access Menu allows users to tune the radio more quickly. Messages are listed in conversations for easy reading and review. An Interface Switcher is added to the programmable buttons, allowing quick switching between four frequently used interfaces.

The HP788 is equipped with a powerful loudspeaker that helps users hear clearly even in noisy environments.
